
Michael Shimp earned his Bachelor of Vocal Performance from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2003. During his undergraduate studies, he began operatic training through the Tulsa Opera Young Artist Program and Inspiration Point in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He currently teaches at Jenks High School in Jenks, Oklahoma, and previously taught choral music in Owasso from 2007 to 2018.
Now in his 17th year of teaching, Mr. Shimp is recognized for developing young singers and leading programs with a strong tradition of musical excellence. He has served the state as Northeast Quad All-State Chair for OkMEA, OkCDA Vocal Jazz All-State Chair and Co-Chair, Region R Coordinator, and as a guest clinician from 2015 to 2024. His additional service includes Oklahoma Children’s All-State Choir (state co-chair) and Oklahoma Circle the State with Song (state co-chair). He has also been a guest clinician for the ECOCDA Regional Treble Choir and the Western Oklahoma Junior High Honor Choir, and has served on the choral staff of the Oklahoma Ambassadors of Music since April 2011. Mr. Shimp currently serves as the SWACDA R&R Chair for Show Choir.
Mr. Shimp’s choirs have been selected as Honor Groups for the Oklahoma Music Educators Convention, including in 2014 and again in 2022 with the Advanced Men’s Choir. He was named the 2010–2011 Teacher of the Year at the Owasso 6th Grade Center. Mr. Shimp maintains active professional memberships in NAfME, OkMEA, ACDA, and OCDA, and currently serves as the OkMEA Northeast All-State Quad Chair.

Lisa Lahmeyer is an active musician and teacher in the Tulsa area where she teaches Vocal Music and Show Choir at Jenks High School. She has Music Directed and performed with many Northeast Oklahoma groups including: Jenks High School, Theatre Tulsa, Tulsa Project Theatre, Sand Spring Community Theatre, Broken Arrow Community Theatre, The Pollard Theatre (Guthrie), and Town and Gown (Stillwater).
Lisa taught musical theatre classes at The Dance and Performing Arts Center for many years. She also loves the opportunities to teach private voice lessons in musical theatre and classical. She is the proud mother of John and wife, Fabi, 2 precious granddaughters, Leighann and Clara, and Nicholas and wife, Karley. She has 2 orange kitties, Chapman and Nugget.
She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Music Education- instrumental and vocal. She started her career teaching both band and choir at Webster High school in 1998 before moving to Jenks Public Schools. She spent 11 years teaching 7th and 8th grade choir then moved to Jenks high school in 2017. At the high school, she has been involved in many areas including, lead teacher for beginning and intermediate treble choirs, Trojan Spirit Show Choir Director, AP Music Theory, Class piano, assisting with Trojanaires and advanced choir, and directing the Show Choir Band. She is a member of NafME, OkMEA, ACDA, and OCDA and has served on the board of OCDA.
